What is regenerative?

A practice is regenerative when it leaves the system healthier than it found it. Not "less harmful" — actually restorative. Composting turns food waste into living soil. Fermentation turns sugar and water into living food. Mycelium grows into objects instead of being moulded from petroleum. These practices build something back into the system.

What does "grown, not manufactured" mean?

Most products are fabricated — moulded, extruded, stamped from raw materials in a factory. Mycelium products are different. A fungus grows into a mould over a few days, forming a solid object. No factory heat. No petroleum. At the end of its life, it goes back to the soil. That's what we mean by "grown, not manufactured."

Most ship across Europe (EU + EEA countries like Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland). Verified examples: Bingenheimer Saatgut (Germany) ships to all EU nations plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland; ReinSaat (Austria) ships to every EU country plus Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway with published per-country rates. Non-EU countries may have additional customs duties, import VAT, and longer delivery times — check each shop's shipping page before ordering. Our own kits will ship across the EU once fulfilment opens (they're in early access now). Digital products are delivered instantly.

How do subscriptions work?

Accepted Answer

Two types are planned: refill subscriptions (bokashi bran, cultures, seed packs) and the quarterly Grown Home Box. Neither is live yet — join the early list and you'll hear first. When they launch, pausing or cancelling will always be one click, no lock-in.

Are your products certified?

Accepted Answer

Every shop in our partner index is vetted through documented desk research: we read their site, check their stated practices and certifications (Demeter, GOTS, B Corp, FSC and others where they exist), and publish the evidence with each listing. We don't accept generic "eco" or "natural" labels as proof of anything. From 27 September 2026, EU Directive 2024/825 (Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition) bans exactly that kind of unsubstantiated claim.

What is bokashi?

Bokashi is an anaerobic fermentation method for composting kitchen waste. You layer food scraps with bran inoculated with beneficial microbes in a sealed bin. The microbes ferment the waste — no smell, no pests, no garden required. After two weeks, you bury the fermented waste in soil, where it breaks down into rich compost in weeks. It works in flats, kitchens, and balconies.

What is fermentation?

Fermentation is the process of cultivating beneficial microbes to transform food. Kombucha uses a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) to turn sweet tea into a tangy drink. Kefir grains ferment milk or water into a probiotic-rich drink. Sourdough uses wild yeast to leaven bread. It's the oldest regenerative practice — you're growing living food.

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are young vegetable greens — harvested 7-14 days after germination, when the first true leaves appear. They're nutrient-dense, grow fast, and thrive on a windowsill. Pea shoots, radish, broccoli, sunflower — a handful of seeds becomes a harvest in just over a week.

What is the Grown Home Box?

A quarterly subscription box — four a year. Each one is built around the season: spring growing kits, summer ferments, autumn preserving, winter soil-building. Inside: a seasonal product (bokashi bran, fermentation culture, seed pack, or mycelium item), a printed guide, and a story from one of our producers. It's a quarterly reset for your home.

If you run an independent shop with verifiable regenerative credentials (certifications, closed-loop production, plastic-free practices), apply via the application form at /for-shops. The team reviews each application within 5 business days — vetting criteria (credentials, independence, EU shipping) apply to everyone, and we never dropship generic products.
